Your Brand Has a Story. Does Anyone Feel It?

A guide to brand storytelling and creative direction for founder-led businesses

I've always been fascinated by the brands that make you stop. You walk into a shop and immediately get the feeling. Or you're in a hotel lobby, or someone hands you a beautifully wrapped package with a handwritten note, and you just want to stay a little longer.

There's something different about these places. It's not really about the product. It's about the world someone built around it.

Over the years, photographing small businesses and getting to know local founders in their own communities, I noticed a pattern: the brands people actually remember are almost never the ones just selling something. They're telling a story. Why they started, what they believe, who's behind the idea.

And here's the thing I kept coming back to: most founders already have a story worth telling. They just haven't figured out how to bring it to life, which is exactly where brand strategy and creative direction come in.

Your Brand Begins Before Your Branding

When people hear "branding," they think logos, fonts, colors, a perfectly curated feed. Those things matter, sure. But that's not where it starts.

It starts with you: why you began, the moments that shaped your vision, the thing you saw that other people missed. Your brand identity is just a reflection of that. And the strongest founder brands aren't built by chasing trends. They come from founders who know what makes them different and aren't afraid to say so.

Why I Believe in Creative Direction

Creative direction isn't just picking what looks nice. It's understanding the feeling you want someone to walk away with, then building every detail (the photos, the words, the way your website flows, where you show up, what people experience) around that one feeling.

It's the thread that ties a brand's visual identity, photography, and marketing together. That's the whole reason I built my FOUND HERSTORY method: before we touch the visuals, we have to understand the vision. Before we build the brand, I need to understand you.

The Founders I Want to Work With

I'm drawn to founders building something on purpose. The designer who turned a lifelong obsession into a real collection. The café owner who wants their space to feel like a gathering spot. The shop owner or property manager who knows there's more potential here but needs help getting it into focus.

The small businesses that inspire me are the ones that make people feel something. They become destinations, not because they're flawless, but because they're personal.

Your Story Is the Foundation

Your brand doesn't need to look like everyone else's. It needs to feel like you.

I'm not trying to help you build something trendy that disappears next season. I want to help you build a brand people actually recognize, remember, and walk through the door for.

Ready to Find Your Brand's Story?

If any of this sounds like you, here's where to start:

  • Clarity Call, a free conversation to talk through your vision and see if we're the right fit.

  • Found-HerStory, a guided experience to uncover the story your brand is here to tell, plus a personalized mood board.

  • The Strategy Sweep, a creative audit of what's working, what's missing, and where your biggest opportunities are.

  • The Leap, full creative direction: brand identity, photoshoots, and the team to bring it all to life.

Every brand has a story. The question is whether people can feel it.
